Enable System Restore

ENABLE SYSTEM RESTORE

  1. Right click the Start button, and from the menu select System.

  2. Click System protection.

  3. From the list of drives, select the system one (usually C:, it will have a small Windows logo in the upper left corner), and click Configure….

  4. Select the option Turn on system protection, select the desired amount of drive space to allocate to the System Restore feature, and click OK.

The more drive space you allocate, the more System Restore Points you will be able to keep. Windows will automatically delete the oldest Restore Point if a new one needs to be created but there isn’t enough space allocated.

Usually, a few/several percentages is a suffcient allocation, but you can increase it if you prefer.

  1. Open Windows Explorer by pressing the combination WinKey + E on your keyboard, right click This PC, and select Properties.

  4. Select the option Restore system settings and previous versions of files, and click OK.

  1. Open the Start Menu, right click My Computer, and select Properties.

  2. Click the System Restore tab, make sure the option Turn off System Restore on all drives is unchecked, then click OK
